The principal behind the Flyer is to keep all residents informed what is happening in the village and to encourage you to get involved in any way you can.
Filby in Bloom
Despite the weather conditions most of the plants are out and work continues every Saturday morning meeting at the Post Office at 9am. Weeding, grass and hedge cutting are next jobs on line.
Judging Day for Anglia in Bloom
This is at 10am on Monday 23 July meeting at Filby Clubroom. Judging will take one hour, finishing back at the Clubroom for tea and coffee. Please make sure your part of Filby is clean and tidy and we would like the Judges to meet as many residents as possible, so feel free to come down for a cuppa.
Open Gardens Weekend
This is on the 21st and 22nd of July 10am till 4pm.
There is a flower festival in the Church contact Janet Laxon on 01493 368165.
Peter Chapman is co-ordinating an art exhibition in the Church Hall contact 01493 369242.
A giant plant sale and refreshments are a available at the Playing Field contact Marjory Ward 01493 369226.

All proceeds of the weekend divided between Filby Church and Filby in Bloom.
Filby School
The school has left the old building and moved into temporary mobiles on the field. The children are settling in well into their new environment and everybody is looking forward to the builders starting on site and the new school when completed.
Thursday 18 July is the last day of term and the School BBQ. The new term starts on Tue 4th September. As well as 13 new Reception children, we will also be welcoming our new Key Stage 2 Teacher, Mr Alex Pritchard.

This weekend is a golden opportunity for other village organisations to raise funds with a lot of new faces visiting Filby.
Waste Paper
Please continue to leave your waste paper at Filby Post Office ,the proceeds go towards Filby Playing Field and the new Hall Fund.
The School paper bank is now situated on the Parish Car Park please continue to use this to support school trips etc.
New Hall Fund
You can still buy a brick in memory of someone at the Post Office.
We have submitted our Lottery application and wait now till August to see if we have been considered for Lottery funding.
