The principal behind the Flyer is to keep all residents informed what is happening in the village and to encourage you to get involved in any way you can.
Christmas Bazaar
Saturday 1st December 10am - 2pm in Filby Clubroom. Christmas gifts, basket tombola "win every time", wreathes, decorations, crafts, books, home-made cakes, bring and buy, ploughman's lunches and refreshments Please come and support us - all in aid of the New Village Hall
Bingo
Christmas Bingo Friday 14th December at 7.30pm in the Clubroom. etc. Great Christmas prizes and free refreshments. We will also be having a Christmas sales table January Bingo Friday 11th January 2008
Filby in Bloom
After five years in the wilderness, we are back in the Britain in Bloom Finals 2008. Filby will represent East Anglia in the National Finals. Judging takes place in August. After winning Britain in Bloom in 2002 with a Gold Medal we must start work now to give us a chance of winning in 2008.
What can we do?
- Make sure your part of Filby is clean and tidy
- We need extra funds (cheques payable to Filby in Bloom)
- We meet every Saturday morning for different village activities
- Meeting arranged for Tuesday 11th December at 7.00pm All welcome to discuss this year's entry
- We need to provide two portfolios of village activities for judging in July/August.
This is a very important job especially this year as we are in the national finals. We can provide the photos and information, but we need someone to put it all together.

The "Green" Village Project
A public meeting has been arranged for 10th January 2008 2pm - 5pm Filby in Bloom, in conjunction with the Energy Saving Trust, want to reduce emissions and encourage the use of renewable energy systems. This can be as simple as installing low energy light bulbs through to solar heating and biomass burners etc. There is something for everyone to do their bit for the environment
