Born on the 7th May 1896 at Filby the fourth child of Charles John and Harriet Waters, neé Bessey. Harriet's father and George William and Sidney Bessey's grandfather were brothers.
In 1901 the family were living on Thrigby Road, Filby.
Frederick left Filby school aged 14 years and was confirmed in Filby church in 1913 aged 16 years.
Frederick enlisted at Norwich into the Worcestershire Regiment, 1st Battalion, service number 202578. He was a Lance Corporal when he was killed in action in France and Flanders on the 29th August 1918 aged 22 years.
Frederick is remembered on the Filby school memorial, on the war memorial at Filby church and on the la Targette British Cemetery, Neuville - St Vaast, near Arras, France.
Frederick was awarded the Victory and British Medals.
